Li Fen
Chief Engineer of R&D Centre, Shenzhen Institute of Building Research
Li Fen is an associate professor of economic geography at the Shenzhen Institute of Building Research. Her focus is on eco-city planning and ecological compensation mechanisms. Having gained a PhD in economics, she undertook postdoctoral research at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research at the Chinese Academy of Sciences between 2008 and 2010.
She has managed and participated in over 10 research and cooperation projects, including the National Key Technology Support Program, the China-European Union Science & Technology Cooperation Program, as well as programmes funded by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of China. She has contributed to over 50 peer-reviewed articles in journals, and to eight books, including the Report on Low-Carbon City Development in China. She has also undertaken academic and editorial tasks and is currently guest reviewer of Sustainable Cities and Society and Resources Science.
