Langnan Chen has over 30 years’ academic and consultancy experience in the energy, environment, agriculture, water, transportation, finance, education and other sectors. He has participated in projects financed by the EU, the World Bank, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and other international organisations in China, Vietnam, Lao PDR, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Nepal, Cambodia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Thailand, Tunisia, Morocco, Tanzania, Gabon, Haiti, Brazil, Columbia, Turkey, Tajikistan, Libya, Belize, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, East Timor, Kyrgyzstan, Kenya, Gambia, Myanmar and South Africa. These projects range from feasibility studies and advisory technical assistance to midterm reviews, project completion evaluations, and loan implementation. He has been contracted by ADB and UNDP to establish and evaluate strategic plans in China and other countries. He has had 15 papers published in leading peer-reviewed journals in the fields of economics and finance, and over 100 academic papers and 10 books (in Chinese) published in China.
